Is This a Zombie? aus dem Studio Deen basiert auf der gleichnamigen Light-Novel-Reihe von Shin'ichi Kimura und dreht sich um den Schüler Ayumu, der von der Necromantin Eucliwood Hellscythe wiedererweckt wird, nachdem er von einem Serienkiller ermordet wurde. So dient er ihr künftig als Zombie und versucht, seinen Mörder ausfindig zu machen, doch dann läuft ihm das Magical Girl Haruna über den weg, dessen Kräfte er versehentlich aufsaugt. Der Untote erhält dadurch die Fähigkeit, sich in ein Mädchen mit Zauberkräften zu verwandeln und muss Harunas Job, gegen die Monster namens Megalos zu kämpfen, übernehmen.
Eine zweite Staffel wurde unter dem Titel Is This a Zombie? of the Dead produziert.
